I have entered Miss Sofia Marie in a Christmas Photo Contest and I would love for all your help in her first photo victory! My girl friend, Erika and I planned this shoot for quite sometime, however with illness, plans and many many other hiccups we couldn't get it done until the other day. However with all the little road bumps along the way, I'd say this was way worth the wait. Wouldn't you agree?

Now since I was a little late, we have 14 less days than everyone else who entered at the start of this competition. So to say the least, I have some lost time to make up for. Hello Lovers....

Its been far far too long - however now with my goals and aspiration re-set I am back to say hello and plea to all 141 of you to come find me. With the exciting news our first baby on her {yes, you heard it right - we are having a lil girl} way in September I have given more thought to Blogging and what I want to achieve! I am going to do what I came here for, Blog about my Loves in Life - which have just increase to include Pregnant.

I decided rather than splitting everything up into 3 or 4 Blogs {as I know I would pull my hair out trying to manage them all properly} to bring them all together as one happy family.

I betcha thought I was kid-napped by cute kittens that "Haz Cheezeburgers"? We can put that rumor to rest, I'm safe and sound and just been taking it easy. I have grand size dreams for LahTeaDah that are just getting underway as we speak, give me a few more weeks to get the kinks out and once the change has been made, your going to love me more than your Nana's Knit Mittens. I promise!

When I come back I have much to share, I have 5 Fabulous Tea's that I will be reviewing between Tipus Chai and The Persimmon Tree Tea Company, as well as the Winner to Giveaway #4 and great Guest Blog Posts reviewing Zhena's Gyspy Tea from my fellow creatively beautiful friend, Lisa Marie from High Tea for Alice.

This Steamy Tuesday I thought it would be fun to tell you some interesting facts about Tea that you maynot have known before. Their is a lot ot know about Tea - and with so many false information out there about Tea vs. Coffee I thought I would share what I find most interesting about the Leaf.

A cup of Black Tea has half the amount of caffeine than a cup of Coffee

A large amount of caffeine is released from Tea after the first 30 seconds of brewing. Dumping this content out and pouring new hot water is a neat trick for caffeine conscience Tea drinkers

All Tea {Black, White, Green and Oolong} come from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis

The Irish consume more Tea per capita than any other group in the world

The Tea bag was invented in the early 20th century by a tea merchant named Thomas Sullivan. Which was done by accident - in needs of transporting Tea Leaves without paying for expensive Metal Tins. When customers received their package they thought to brew it in the bag to save the mess. The Tea Bag was then invented

A cup of Tea may keep the dentist away, yes I said 'dentist'. This is because tea helps fight cavities

Don't throw that old Tea out! Instead try putting it in the refrigerator to help absorb odors, or use in your garden as fertilizer

It takes only 3 minutes of brewing time for the antioxidants in Tea to be released in your cup

'Orange Pekoe' some people think is a type of Tea, but is really a grading of Tea

So I watch the Golden Globes stickily for the Dresses.... and Johnny Depp...

Seriously I don't watch many Movies that actually get nominated, as we all know my lust for Movies goes as far as Romantic Comedies featuring Adam Sandler, Ryan Reynolds and Jennifer Aniston.... and as far as daytime television goes - well again unless Jersey Shore got nominated for Best Poof or Fist Pumping Award, all the shows that got nominated were "French" to me. The only show I was routing for were Nurse Jackie and ..... Oh I watched Glee twice - so them too! Ha Ha

I recorded the Red Carpet which I will watch tonight but as far as the actual Awards went the Dresses were just Dazzling! Tons of LOVES and a few HATES.... Wanna see what I thought?

DIY Shoe Accessory | Bow Tie Ankles

Was in some serious DIY mood one afternoon after the Christmas Holidays - it lead me to making these Shoe Accessories. When you have Tweed Fabric, Scrap Leather from an old Belt and Gold Chain.... in my world - the skies the limit.

Enjoy the first DIY on the Blog - but defiantly not the last.... My whole life I have been DIY'ing I just normally dont take photos of my every step. Since this year, I'm all about dreaming and do'ing vs dreaming and dreaming - I got a quick start on my lazy resolution.

PS: My take on DIY is a bit different as my ideas change quite a bit on the process so what I start out doing is never what the final product looks like - so bare with the change of plans as the photos go on. For the most part I hope you can get inspiration from what I do - Im not very good and following rules.

Take your Stiff Ribbon and Glue/Reserve Sticky inside your Steed Material

Folding over the edges to form 1 long Stiff Tweed Strip

Cut into 2 even strips - the last time I looked you had 2 ankles and not 1

Now create 2 circles out of the strips you just created - these will now be pinched in the center and made into a bow

I pinched the center by taking a Thread and Needle weaving in and out about 4cm apart so I could just simply pull the bottom and crimp it all together - forming a bow.

I took scrap leather from an old belt and covered the sewing to form a center point

I be-dazzled it with some scrap gold chain and a little charm that I found at a Vintage Shop

I then cut two strips from the Leather and attached the centers to the backside of the Bows - this would be what I will tie around my ankles.

...and whala.... my Shoe Accessories!

I think they make a plain black pump - Fabulous!

Steamy Tuesday - Lady Gaga CelebriTEA Edition

Even if you are not a fan of the "Lady" herself you can appreciate both things that she loves. Tea and Fashion. She struts by the sound of her own beat, all while taking dainty sips from her favorite vintage tea cups. Who needs a "Starbucks to go" cup when you can walk down the streets holding a Tea Cup worth more than the shoes your wearing! Now thats my kinda girl!

I think its quite obvious that I am quite a lover of the Gaga and this would be why she is today's Steamy Tuesday CelebiTEA.... an ode to her love for the Leaf and creating Styles with every outfit she wears.

Lady Gaga has said to be in working on a contract with the well-known Tea Brand Twinings in designing her own Tea Line. A source claimed Twinings' idea is "to have tasting sessions in which she would participate. ... They want to market Tea to a new, younger generation -- and Gaga is making drinking tea cool again." Its too bad I was never told that Tea was ever uncool.... My Nana is going to be very disappointed we didn't get the memo!

I find this source to be very strange and a little upsetting. Seriously someone would actually start drinking Tea on a daily basis just because a Celebrity did? Do people really do this... please tell me its not that they do it to be like her, but because she inspires them to try something new and they end up falling in love with it? Their isn't really people out there that force Tea down there throats because someone they idolize does? Weird!

“Her management have received a load of offers from major Tea Companies, but Twinings are the frontrunners,” a source says. “They want to launch a new tea with her face on it. Names like the Taste Of Gaga are being batted about."

I realize why she may have chosen a company such as Twinings {due to its longevity in the Tea Market and Popularity down the aisle} however to be perfectly honest with you we all know there is better Tea out there, why not choose one of them? Twinings is very commercial, I know this - but seriously a true Tea Lovers will know that if given a choice between a bagged Grocery Tea Brand and a Specialty Loose Tea Leaf Company the decision is simple really. With so many options out there I sorta wished I had seen her go out on the edge like she does in everything else she does and choose a company such as Boston Tea Company or DAVIDsTEA.

I came across Miss Violet Lace on a Fellow Fashion Blogger Site {Little Chief Honeybee} not too long ago and instantly fell in love. Krista and Sandy design one-of-a-kind Wigs for the Fashion Forward. These Hair Pieces are just beyond any words I can come up with in my silly little head. I have a serious crush on a good 10 of them myself however my heart aches and will until I get my hands/head into this one {Caramel Candy Curls} and this one {Grey Silver Straight}.

I was over-the-moon excited when Krista agreed to an interview and even more excited when she answered the questions I sent her so quickly.

My 1st Fashion Feature: I give you Krista & Sandy - Miss Violet Lace

Q} With each style that you come up with, where do you take inspiration from?

A} We (Sandy & I) draw inspiration from music, art and nature. Those things are fuel for the soul, and make us push the limits of our creativity. As a designer, I take things from the everyday and try my best to make the extraordinary, there are no limits to what we create; we let our imaginations run free.

Q} What has been your absolute biggest accomplishment to date? What are you most proud of?

A} Our biggest accomplishment to me is a series of smaller accomplishments, which include reaching 400+ sales, being on the front page of Etsy (more than 5 times!), being featured in Etsy’s blog- The Storque twice and overall just being able to have steady sales. It means so much to me that so many people have responded so positively to our business, it makes all the hard work so worth it.

A} My favorite is Sugar Cupcake Taffy. It is a two-tone black w/ blue, and a turquoise top portion, with streaks of cotton candy pink blended in. It was my first two-tone wig, and is an original Miss Violet Lace design. We came up with the two tone design because there simply wasn’t that kind of wig style on the market, and we wanted to set ourselves apart as designers. It’s a design I’m very proud of, I think it turned out beautifully.

Q} Who is your favorite Designer when it comes to Fashion & Why?

A} My favorite designer is Betsey Johnson. Her designs are deliciously girly, flirty and fun! There’s never a lack of sparkle or fluff, just seeing her designs makes me smile. I love how creative she is, and it really shows through in her work.

Q} If you could design one of your pieces for a Celebrity, who would it be, what would it look like and why?

A} I would love to design a piece for Zooey Deschanel. She is my favorite actress of all time, she’s quirky, and has an incredibly upbeat and vibrant personality. The wig I would design would definitely be a little over-the-top, because I know she could pull it off. I’d love to do varying shades of pink and blue, those colors would suit her skin tone and eyes.

Q} If you had a chance to take anyone in the world for Afternoon Tea, who would it by, why and what would you sip?

A} I would choose Johnny Depp. I think he is a brilliant man who is very talented and funny. Plus let’s not deny, he’s gorgeous! I would probably drink milk, since I actually hate tea! (But it would be served in a teacup of course)

Steamy Tuesday | How to Brew a perfect Cup

You Tea lovers will start to appreciate Tuesday more than ever before. It is now not known for the day after Monday and the day before Hump-Day Wednesday.... Its now know for Steamy Tuesday.

Information about Tea that will either teach you something new, floor you, frustrate you, or in todays case, help you brew the perfect cup. Enjoy Tuesday's here at LahTeaDah!

Water:
Choose the best water available. Never use warm or hot water from the Tap to speed up the boiling process your only setting yourself up for failure. You can wait an extra 60 seconds for better Tea can't you? And always, always....ALWAYS have the Tea Bag IN the cup prior to pouring, never put in the bag in after the cup has been filled with Water.

Leaves:
Use the best Tea available. Grocery stores generally only carry tea bags filled with low quality Tea Leaves. Although they might seem like a bargain, these "name brands" are not worthy of being considered Tea. With this day an age it so easy to buy online {including affordable}, if you don't have a Tea Shop locally then order online.
{a few of my favorite online retailers are: Boston Tea Company, Teatulia, Art of Tea and DAVIDsTEA}

How Much:
Based on an 8oz Cup a rule is normally 1 to 2 teaspoons. In my case I like a deep, dark, bold Tea and Ill almost always use closer to 3 teaspoons.... shhht don't tell the Tea Gods, they will be very very upset with me.

Water Temperature:
Regardless of how you boil your water, is must come to a rolling boil {212 degrees}. Once it has come to a boil it must sit for a minute or two to cool before pouring ontop of your Tea Leaves.

Green Tea | 180 degrees

Oolong Tea | 190 degrees

Black Tea | 200 degrees

Water thats too hot can burn the leaves which in turn will leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth also over steeping a Tea can also do this.

Steeping Time:
Your Tea Leaves should be given time to sit-still during this steeping process. Extra motion can cause the release of more tannins, which in turn lead to a bitter tasting Tea. Do not steep Tea for to long, start with 2-3 minutes and gradually increase the time to your preferred likeness. If your like me - Ill leave a Black Tea in for 5 minutes... but I have a very acquired taste for a Malty, Strong and Bold Black Tea.

Accompaniments:
You ask me I say Cream, Sugar {White, Brown or Amber Crystals} or Honey are all great flavoring of Tea's however not everyone will agree with me on this.
The Brits would have my head to hear that I put Cream in my Black Tea they are all and only for low-fat milks, not because they watch there waist -lines but because they find Cream can leave a murky taste in ones mouth {me, not so much}. They would also dis-agree very much with my other options of Sweetening besides a white sugar. They would ignore the request of a Brown or Amber Sugar and they would laugh me right out of the Tea Shop if I asked for Honey.

Personal Tips:
* My Mama always taught me to warm up my cup first. So while boiling your water either run hot water into your cup or else put the cup filled with cold water into your microwave and run for 2 minutes. This will just keep your Tea Warmer for longer.
* My bestfriend Katy, taught me to put Cream/Milk and Sugar in first, as this is what her grandma used to do - however I find that I can sometimes add too much milk this way when I am brewing a new Tea. As I am not sure how bold it will get.
* Never rush a cup of Tea. Tea is meant to be sipped not gulped, to me its almost like a sin to brew a perfect cup and complete it in 2 gulps. Savor it, enjoy it and be in the moment with it. Keep Calm and Sip on!

2011 New Years Resolutions

I have been compiling all the little things in life that seems to be getting away on me. I like nothing more than waiting until a New Year begins and starting a New Resolution List all over. However this year its a little different, what was written in my diary in the past, is now on my blog, online for all to see and hold me to.

YIKES!?!

I want to make some honest changes in my life. Changes to my Blog, changes to better my Health, and some for Wealth, but most of all for my husband and mines sanity.

2011 is going to be one for the record books Ladies and Gents... I can feel it! Let's pledge that we will stick to {at least one of} our New Years Resolution Lists! Is that a deal? Do I hear a "amen"? I can't hear you....do I hear I Hell-Yeah?

2011 New Years Resolutions

1. Join a 30 by 30 Remix

{I have been toying with this for way too long, time to grab the bull by the...}

2. Drink more Water

{I am horrible at the consumption of H20 that hasn't been steeped with a Tea Bag. I will make great effort to at least have 8 Glasses a day}

3. Date Night with the Husband

{Sammy and I are very good at letting life get away on us, slipping into a repetitive schedule. Its time we bring back some good old Fancy-Date-Nights. You know what that means... New Outfits needed!}

4. Slow Down

{I tend to always be looking ahead and not living or relishing in lifes little moments. So here's to me talking a deep breath, a step back, and enjoy now, not what's on its way}

5. Stop the Yo-Yo Weight
{I have dropped 10lbs and gained it back. Dropped 20lbs and gained most of it back, its time I loose the weight and keep it off with not going back to my "penny-candy" ways and grab a carrot stick instead of a Pixie Stick}

2010 in Review | What a Year!

What started for mere shitz and giggles has become so much more. For anyone who knows me well {mostly family} will know my desires for this Blog are grand, as everything in my life is. What has happened from May until now is complete shock! Over 20 Tea Reviews and 15 Fashion Fridays.... and better yet 110 people that actually care what I am doing.

A big thanks to Boston Tea Company, Teatulia, Art of Tea, DAVIDsTEA, Affordable Scarves & Shock Boutique for being so generous to me in 2010!

I have so much more in store for you guys in the New Year from Steamy Tuesdays {hot off the press Tea and Fashion news} to Sunday Funnies {fashion mishaps and "are you serious" Tea Images} and of course MORE Fashion Posts and Tea Reviews.... its going to be a blast! 2010 has treated me well, but I have high hopes for 2011 including a trip to Las Vegas for my first Fashion Blogger Meet-Up, topping my list.

Short but Sweet... I wanted to come say hello... share a few Eve & Christmas Photos as well as tell you just how excited I was for today to come. Boxing Day {in Canada}, also better know as my ultimate favorite day of the year. I woke up fairly early, unloaded and loaded the dishwasher for the 8th time in the past 48 hours and did some laundry {my chores for the day - to feel no so guilty that I'm going to shop while my husband is at work}.

I went in with 2 things in mind Fold-Over Yoga Pants and a New Years Outfit. Got 'em both plus a few other tid-bits. Now I'm back home and online shopping my little heart out. I think just a few more things and I will be set to step into 2011 in some serious style!

Fashion Friday: Vintage from within the Family

A good 6 or 7 months ago, my Nana Carmen {as seen busting a move here} gave me a cape that she had owned. She asked I put it to good use and mentioned she could not foresee herself wearing it again however thinks I would really enjoy it. Of course I didn't put up a fight, I had so many idea's on how I could work it into my daily life and of course my Fashion Posts. I made a few changes to it by cutting off all the tassels hanging at the bottom and I did think about changing its buttons, however I have yet to find anything I feel suitable. So for now, she stays this way....basking in her vintage glory.

Now not only do I have my love/passion/obsession for Tea to thank my Nana for, but my Fashion now too!

On a side note: Sorry about the photo locations lately. But by the time I get off of work, its horror-movie-dark outside, and for my safety, and of course my photographer - its just best we do it indoors.

So this post is going to be Short and Sweet ... as if I could purchase something late last night and not let you all know what I am anticipating in the mail within the next 4 weeks ...

On my way home from work last night, I was stuck in horrible Traffic. Checking my e-mails {while I was literally parked on the free-way} I noticed Beyond the Rack had e-mailed to let me know about their most recent deals {you know, me and beyond the rack, we're tight - we e-mail one another like every other day - I'll introduce you one day?!}. I scan the titles of each listing and see Michael Antonio Boots starting at $19. I literally almost pass out. I logged into Beyond the Rack on the iphone and only get as far as about 12 shoes in before I literally an thinking about pulling over and finding my credit card. This would be a first Highway purchase, thats for sure. Instead I call my husband and ask him to log into BTR for me and tell me if I would love any of these shoes {he knows my style inside out}. He tells me there are a few I'm sure you'd love, and thats all I needed to know. My main mission was to get home and buy, buy, BUY!

Walked in the door and remembered we had a vet appointment for Lynx... ran out the door as fast as I got in, to take her in for her late night appointment. All was fine and dandy, brought her home - and went straight to the laptop. Chose the 1 pair I couldn't live without, and made them mine!

Aroma: Naturally, at first sniff I caught Chamomile. The Soft Heavenly, Sleepy smell of Chamomile {maybe not the best choice for a wake-me-up Tea - note to self, do not drive any heavy machinery today}. I caught both light citrus notes and a soft rounded Honey finish to my first smell.

Taste: This Tea wins an award in my books. It wins for the smoothest Tea to ever hit my lips. The combination of the the Chamomile, the Lemon and the Honey seems to be the perfect grouping for a soft smooth roller coaster ride. PURE BLISS....

Sorry for the later post here for Fashion Friday however after I took the shots I headed Downtown to check out the "One of a Kind Show" {a Show where 250 of North America's most talented artists & designers will showcase unique gift ideas for everyone on your list} so of course I naturally couldn't pass up such an Event.

With great success in just meeting some fabulous Clothing and Jewelery Designers, I also managed to buy a few items for some special ladies in my life {Mum and Sisters}. Pretty sure they are avid readers... so I won't be letting anything out of the bag. Ill tell you guys LATER.

So I met a few fabulous Designers such as Julie from JuliePedersen.com {Luxurious Accessories for you Shoes}, or Kari Lynn and Stephanie from Mixed Media Jewellery, and Shanah designer of Little House Clothing {One of a Kind wardrobe pieces with a Vintage Flare}, and Kris from a Cagey Bee, of course last but not least Bueno Style {Jewelery that you couldn't peel me away from}.

I am hoping that I will have a chance to touch base with them all for a chance to feature them on LahTeaDah. Showing you all just how amazing they all are individually... and of course to support local artists that make us all look so beautiful.

Review: Leopard Scarf c/o Affordable Scarves

As you all can see from my Post Title... This weeks Fashion Friday has been modified just a "tad". Of course you will still see me and my fun, yet awkwardly silly poses.... however - the outfit was not inspired by what I could grab in the dark before waking Sammy, but perfectly worked around a Fabulous Scarf that was sent to me via Affordable Scarves.

The Scarf I chose on their site was a style of one that I had been eye'ing for quite sometime... So of course for me it was a no-brain'er. I was beyond excited when asked to chose anything I desired - this is when I would have agreed that the "fly-on-the-wall" saying was less stalker-exboyfriend-creepy and more youtube-video-worthy.

I received my much anticipated parcel in the mail early this week and I literally could not be happier for Friday to get here. I have already worn it twice - before today's ensemble. Today's outfit was worked around this scarf only because it has every right to be the signature piece in an outfit. But because, It's Loud, Its Proud and......damn-it.....It's Leopard!

I could use this so many other ways other than just keeping my neck warm & chic. I could use it a shawl {obviously} and I bet I could even use it as a skirt, pinned and belted. Sounds like a DIY Fashion Friday to me. The Quality of this Scarf is Fabulous, especially when you compare it to its friend.... "cost". At $14.95 you can't go wrong. The Proposal....Yes! Yes! Yes!

So....I have been asked once or twice by fellow followers how Sammy and I met and got engaged. I wanted to make sure I had just the perfect time to tell the story as its really quite something else. I wont keep you here all day, as I know better then to go on...and on....and on.... but I will tell you I wouldn't change one day, hour, minute or second for anything in world.... not even a Chanel.

How we met:
Online {end of story}

No, but really. We met online, spoke via e-mail for about 2 weeks before we stepped up our game to the telephone for another few weeks - then came D-Day. We agreed to meet downtown Vancouver on Robson and Thurlow - where there is a Starbucks on each corner {strange concept, but very convenient to borrow sugar, if needed}... I parked my Car in the back alley and walked out front for the Grand-oh meeting... he drove up...rolled his window down and told me to "hop in".

What's that you say? I'm crazy... I know! But something about this guy was just so "right"!

He asked if I wanted to go hang out at the beach, chat and get to know one another - I of course obliged... however thats about all he said the whole ride. I talked, he smiled, I talked, he snickered, I asked him if he was mute, he laughed.... He was very very nervous.

We got to Jerico Beach - Hmmmm around 5pm - and left at about 2am. No word of a lie!

{about 15 minutes prior to the proposal}

How he proposed:
Well it first started as me planning a 30th Birthday Surprise for him. I planned a trip to Tofino, meaning to keep it a total secret. Booked the Rental Cabin in March and his Birthday was in November... YEAH! If any of you know me by now I am not one to keep exciting secrets like this for long... it lasted about 2 weeks and I "spilled the beans"..... then of course I got upset that I had no surprise for him....so I did some creative thinking and thought about something I could do there that would be a surprise. So I researched a professional photographer and thought pictures of the Beach together for his 30th would be fun. Found just the perfect match. Miss Erika Scott. She lived in Tofino, she knew the city inside out, she was so excited to join in on my little surprise and better yet - she seemed like someone I could grown quite close to. I could always use an extra friend!

So over the past 8 months while waiting I did just that. Erika and I spoke once a week - became very good friends, which eventually grew into a ever so special friendship. I go to Erika for most adult things as something about her to me scream "know it all" and I trust her more than you would believe. A few months prior to our trip, Sammy was checking his e-mails and went into the already opened gmail {mine} to shut-down and re-open his account. When his little eyes locked on a subject reading: Sammy's Birthday Photoshoot.......
Little brat couldn't stop himself... helps himself to reading and ruins the surprise I worked so hard to keep from him. So he copies Erika's e-mail address and goes on his way.

Sammy contacts Erika explaining that he knows about the surprise - but not because I "caved" but because he is a little snoop {I'm sure the conversation didn't go exactly like that}. He went on to plan, that during the surprise shoot, he wants to pop the question.... I know right.... where did I find this guy?

They went on to planning on a weekly basis, while I still thought that I had this secret in the bag... so proud, I couldn't wait to surprise him.... FAIL! The morning of.... he gets ready, I tell him and he acts so surprised :) At least I got the "fake" surprised - it was so worth it.... might be the only surprised face I get out of that boy!

Erika showed up at our Cabin.... and took us on our way! She was so calming and poor little Sammy was so nervous... She took us to all the best look-outs and brought the most fun props to work with.... I treasure Erika's Friendship just as much as I do these photos. He popped the question at the very tip of Ucluelet as it started to lightly shower.... nothing phased me at all....I was just having so much fun!

As Erika told me, I walked out to get THE SHOT....with us and the waves crashing behind.... all while Sammy and Erika were setting up the "popping of the question".... as for the rest, I think the pictures speak louder than words.

The only reason why I would want to re-do my Alice in Wonderland Un-Birthday Party would only be to stock my Table of all pieces from "High Tea for Alice".

Well if not you them for sure me. I couldn't happily leave that shop purchasing any one of those items and cherish it like it were my child. Her pieces are not only beautiful but absolutely necessity for any Afternoon Tea fit for a Queen.

The designer; Lisa Marie Hart is in my mind the absolute meaning of Elegance. She even told me she has some idea's up her sleeve on new design styles.... I can't imagine they can get much better. Then again I urge her to prove me wrong!!!

I bet right now your wondering how you missed that "Pig in the Sky".... No people, I did not cave and buy myself Texting Gloves... but apparently I advised the population that matters {the ones that follow me} of the newest Glove to help a texting hand near you.

Last week I posted about these new Texting Gloves I had stumbled across. I ranted about how ridiculous I thought the idea was - however to my surprise these have proven to be a BIG-HIT with iphone owners. Guess purchasing a Blackberry was not only a practical thing but Fashionable....TeeHee

My sister-in-law sent me an e-mail directly after my post to tell me that she thinks the idea could either be a great success or a total flop - she would be heading downtown to track them down and put an end to the question that had been eating her alive. Best Invention Ever or Worst Trend Alive.....

So after she bought a pair I had her review them....pictures and all!!!

Q} Where did you buy your Texting Gloves?
A} The Quicksilver Store - 820 Granville Street in Vancouver

Q} How much were they?
A} $27.50

Q} Did you buy more than one pair?
A} Yes, a black pair for me and a pair of gray ones for my sister as part of her Christmas gift.

Q) What do you rate the Gloves out of 10?
A} I will give these gloves a solid 7.5 out of 10 overall.
What I will say is that they are great for people who are going to be on and off the phone constantly – like I typically am most days with appointments for work. For the person who texts and uses their phone on a casual day-to-day basis; I could see how it’d be slightly annoying having to flip the pointer and thumb open and shut for every message. At the end of the day they serve their purpose; which is avoiding having take your glove off completely - especially for those of us with touch screen phones. Either way your hands stay nice and warm and you’re able to call, text and email with no problem at all, 2 flips and your connected. The gloves also have a faux suede patch I found to be a great feature for traction and are really soft and thick enough to keep in that heat! The downside to these gloves is that they only come in one size so they may not fit everyone perfectly. They will also eventually start to pill but this goes without saying for most gloves – unless you’re wearing leather. I’d say they were a great find.

A} Thanks to LahTeahDah I am now the proud owner of these gloves! If it wasn’t for the review, albeit one claiming how heinous these are, I would probably have not known of their existence or at least attempted to go out and specifically look for them. Now, whether it’s a work email or a text to my husband, I can be confident I won’t lose a finger due to frostbite!

Fashion Friday: Bring on the WOOL!

Why is this my favorite time of year? That would be because I get to get cozy in my Wool Coat from H&M that I got on sale from $198 to $10..... that's right baby!!!!

Its pretty much my most exciting purchase at the end of last year! So brilliant I called my Mama to see if she wanted one too...So now my mama and I own $400 of wool coats for a whopping $20.

I shall leave you with this very short and sweet RED TAG Story - I had a horrible morning getting ready for the cubicle job and rushed out the door without my camera along with many other things, including my energy.......photo's this Fashion Friday are courtesy of my lovely "forced BFF" {story to come at a later date} iphone. Tea Accompaniments: Both Carmen Jayne and I added only sugar...no milk or cream. It smelt a little too fruity for us to o pouring in our milk with ease.

Leave Rating: Carmen Jayne: 4.2 | Me, myself and I: 4.3
5 for the best and 1 for the worst

Liquor Color: Reddish-Brown, with the edges a tone or two lighter and an Amber center. Again if I could make a Gem-Stone out of Steeped Tea, let me tell you - I would be the next brazillionaire.

Aroma: Both CJ and I caught an Apple-ish aroma. So very fall and just perfect for the evening we were having. We initially caught a honey sweet smell with a tail end of citrus {we both think lemon} and of course how could you not fall asleep to the smell of sweet ginger. Quite impressed with how much we could actually put together into words at just a smell.

Taste: From all the smelling we were doing - we just couldn't get enough I think the taste really took us off-guard. We had verbally set ourselves up for a sweet, fruity concoction - however at first sip their was a Bold, Full-Bodied and Malty taste that obviously came from the Black Tea ... Duh! The two if us just looked at one another a little taken back. What? We took about 3 or 4 before any words actually surfaced. Ha Ha Ha - After we could actually get some words out we defiantly could taste the fruity/citrus flavors of the Peach and it almost had a bite. Really quite re-freshing for a black tea.

If anyone out there has a battle when they are deciding what to steep being something fruity and something bold.... look now more. Boston Tea Companies Ginger Peach & Apricot Black Tea is your new BFF....well that is next to me of course :)

Mini-Vacation | Tea 3x a Day

As you know I was away on a mini-vacation {if you will} with my husband visiting my Nana on the Sunshine Coast. She lives in a little town called Powell River.

Sammy and I have been meaning to make our way to visit her - however being so busy with Home Renovations and Life in general - it has slipped away far too many time to count {however if you ask Nana, she probably knows}.... Departing our Home at 8:00am Friday morning we arrived at Nana's House by 1:45pm. Just shy of 6 hours its quite a trek...however worth every second when we arrive to the smell of Lunch..... Chicken Soup and Maltese Pastizzis.

Friday was filled with a fabulous Dinner at my Aunt's House. Fit for an Italian, we ate Pasta in a Red Meat Sauce, Garlic Bread and Salad. Visited with family from all over including 2 new babies that have entered into our family.

Saturday we spent the morning eating {common we're European, no - thank you mean, yes - more please}. After cleaning up after breakfast Nana started in teaching me the diamond of all recipes that I have always wanted to master. Not really because I want to make it for everyone on this side of the water - but really just to make my Nana proud.

Later on that afternoon we went into town {and by by this I mean down the street} to the Ferry Terminal coming from Campbell River to pick up my cousin Carmen Jayne who was going to join us for the rest of the weekend. After we picked up CJ we hit the local mall to replace my Nana's Christmas Tree that decided to call 'er quites this year. Found a new one and then off to Lunch out...Nana's Favorite Chinese all-you-can/dare-eat. After which we headed back home to rest and make room for Dinner. That Evening Nana made a special Dinner for Sammy since it was recently his Birthday...Rabbit. CJ and I rejected the furry offer and opted for Chicken.

Which now brings me to my tasting. While Sammy was watching hockey, Carmen Jayne and I decided to do a Tea Tasting. I love do Tastings with my family.... they are always so excited about it and it makes me think that maybe, just maybe, I'm not the only one who loves the leaf so much!

PS: Thank you Auntie Debbie for not only arranging the gathering but putting on such an amazing Dinner. Thank you Nana Carmen for being so patient with Sammy and I getting our acts together and coming out to visit you - oh yeah and also housing us in your cozy cozy home - just as I like it HOT HOT HOT. Thank you Nana Kay for making Sammy's ever so well-known and overly yummy 7-up Birthday Cake... Looks like your new oven passes my test. Last but not least Thank you Carmen Jayne for being such an awesome cousin.... oh yeah and coming out and seeing us for our mini-vacation! LOVE YOU ALL!

A Girlfriend of mine sent this link to me. I assume it wasn't because she thought that my salary would accompany such taste of a $12,000 cup of Tea - but more so because she knew that I would probably beg my husband once or twice, with attempt to convince him that it would be well worth the money spent.

So... how I managed to get an Internet connection is beyond me! This evening while Sammy, Carmen, Nana and I were watching the Hockey Game my computer decides to pick up a distant Internet connection from someone with dial-up.... UBER-SLOW Connection..... but you don't see me complaining!

Thank you Grandpa Harry for spending the evening connected to the dial-up and leaving it un-armed so that I could piggy back off you!

This could be short and sweet as I loose the connection as fast as I Grandpa Harry can run a mile... but again... I'm not complaining!

Got a FABULOUS e-mail that had me screaming "why don't I own these already"?

{Nana Carmen ... bustin' a move}

Alright Folks... Giving you a heads-up that my hubby and I will be leaving the country tomorrow - Okay...so we are not leaving the country - seems like the only legit thing to tell you as I wont have internet until Sunday Evening.

I am heading to Powell River to visit with my Nana. She maybe Trendy with her little size 4 wedges, but she is a little out of the loop when it comes to the wonderful world we call the internet!

I was hoping to try and connect to a neighbors connection - BUT since I assume that both sides are probably nearing their 80's, chances are I'm going to be out of luck. However the good news is they got a Starbucks there about 2 years ago and this means FREE WIRELESS CONNECTION that I hope to get to at sometime through out the weekend to catch up!

I hope to try and hit some random stores we don't have here in Vancouver {for obvious reasons} and see if I cant pick up something I can "work-with" in my closet... TeeHee

Thanks for ruining a good pair of Finger-less Gloves my friend! I won't be sporting these to help send my husband love-texts this winter - I will be like every other normal person and NOT TEXT while I am in the snow, thank you very much!
